Spring, when you make yourself wait

Spring, when you make yourself wait

When the snow banks are still high and temperatures often oscillate around zero, when you fear having to scratch your car in the morning, when you could quickly find yourself on the buttocks if you set foot too quickly on a patch of ice ... So, even if the month of April is just around the corner, we can't really say it's spring! The Easter Bunny will have to be careful this year.

When Mother Nature lets herself be desired before the sunny days, for many of us it is the ideal time to tackle the big cleaning and dream of big summer projects. If I transpose these concepts with our neighborhood association, this is the time we chose to hold our annual general meeting, elect a new board of directors, and start the machine with current and future projects. Didn't you think I was going to keep talking about the Easter Bunny? The list of members of the new board and the dates of the meetings are posted on our website. You can contact us at any time to request to attend one of our board meetings.

When you live in a booming neighborhood, where new housing seems to grow faster than the hoped-for spring flowers, the stakes are multiple. Ensuring that we maintain and improve our quality of life is the central issue. Central, as the name of this park on the Plateau which will one day see the birth of new community, recreational and sports infrastructures. Location of the future western ecocentre, development phases of Central Park, public square, woodland protection, greening, new community garden... Dear neighbors, we invite you to join us on the issues of the day, the choice is great.

When we learn how much the mental health of the population has been affected in recent years, especially among young people, we want to help. When the media reports, week after week, on the tragedies facing families and communities across Quebec, we still want to help. At the Association des résidents du Plateau, we also firmly believe that getting involved locally to organize community, accessible and unifying activities is an excellent way to build a social safety net that contributes to the well-being of as many people as possible. The pandemic has been a stark reminder of how much we need others, and therefore also how much others need us.

When you read these words, I hope you want to embark with us.
