The Association des résidents du Plateau (ARP) is pleased to present the report as well as the summary of key findings from our study on the needs of seniors in the Plateau neighbourhood.
Last fall, a survey was conducted among residents to better understand the realities and needs of seniors in the community. The results of this process, enriched with contextual data, are now presented in a report and a key findings summary.
This study is part of the project Vivre au Plateau - Analyse des besoins des aînés, carried out with the support of the CISSS de l'Outaouais under the Community Development Support Fund. The study aims to shed light on the issues faced by seniors and to guide concrete actions to improve their quality of life.
The findings highlight several key priorities, including improving transportation and safe mobility, increasing access to affordable and appropriate housing, strengthening access to local health services, and supporting a vibrant social life to reduce isolation and promote active aging.
The ARP warmly thanks the 204 survey respondents, as well as the partners who facilitated seniors' participation, including Mr. Mario Poirier (Logement de l'Outaouais) and Mr. Youssef Chekir (Chartwell Plateau residence). We also thank Mr. Michel Lopez Barrios from the Observatoire du développement de l'Outaouais (ODO) for his contribution to the demographic data that helped establish the Plateau's population profile.
The report and the summary of key findings are available in French only.
