Activities Coordinator

 

NATURE OF EMPLOYMENT:

The Association des résidents du Plateau (ARP) is a non-profit organization whose main mission is to preserve and improve the quality of the physical, social, cultural and sporting environment of the residents of the Plateau district of Gatineau.

The mandate of the Activities Coordinator is to carry out, with the help of volunteers, several community activities related to the annual programming of the Association des résidents du Plateau. It also supports other activities run by volunteers.

 

THE COORDINATOR WILL:

 

    • Participate in the creation of the seasonal calendar of activities, in collaboration with the activity planning committee
    • Organize and direct meetings with volunteers during the organization of the various activities for which he is responsible
    • Work collaboratively with the Director General (DG)
    • Maintain a balanced budget for each activity
    • Maintain an up-to-date list of suppliers and partners who work with the PRA or any other relevant work tool for event planning
    • Oversee each activity for which he or she is responsible and prepare a report to be presented to the DG
    • Assign tasks to volunteers, train and support them in carrying out their mandate and carry out the necessary follow-ups with them
    • Welcome volunteers and suppliers at the beginning of activities and supervise the setting up of the activity site
    • Be available for transportation of light equipment to the event venue if required
    • Perform any other related duties not assigned and necessary for the conduct of activities

 

QUALIFICATIONS :

 

    • Have 1 or 2 years of relevant experience related to the position
    • Have a strong interest in events
    • Master computer tools (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom, Trello, Air Table, Google suite tools, etc.)
    • Demonstrate autonomy, initiative, versatility, creativity and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work in a team and telework
    • Good quality written and spoken French writing skills
    • Hold a valid driver's license

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

    • Part-time position (15 hours per week on average, flexible schedule consistent with the needs of the organization)
    • Salary of $20/hour
    • Starting date: immediate
