The Seed Festival made its return to the Plateau on March 14. A day filled with exchanges, discoveries, and the joy of coming together around gardening.
After a break since 2016, the Gatineau Seed Festival finally returned this year, and the Plateau had the pleasure of hosting it.
Held on March 14, 2026, the event welcomed nearly 200 visitors who came to exchange seeds for free, discover new gardening practices, and get ready for the upcoming growing season.
Organized by volunteers from the Plateau community gardens, Serge-Bertrand and La Rose des Vents, the festival showcased several local exhibitors, including:
- La Grainothèque de fleurs sauvages d'Ottawa
- Les semis de La Seigneurie
- Enviro Éduc-Action
- La pépinière La Réfriche
- Leystone Farms de Luskville
- Polliniser Aylmer
Several Gatineau community gardens were also present:
- Jardin Magnus
- Jardin Reboul
- Jardin du Parc-de-la-Montagne
Throughout the day, gardeners, enthusiasts, and experts gathered to share advice, seeds, and experiences in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
It was a wonderful moment of connection around gardening and the return of spring, enjoyed by all and already inspiring next year's edition.
If you missed it, the next festival will take place in 2027 at the Maison de la Citoyenneté.
