Did you know...?
... public transit is rarely used by seniors on the Plateau?
Taken from the study "Living on the Plateau: An Analysis of Seniors' Needs" (ARP, 2026 link).
The survey results show limited use of public transit:
- 58% of respondents never use it.
- 26% use it occasionally.
- Only 12% use it regularly.
Many prefer to use their cars, which reflects a degree of independence but may also point to a lack of incentives or public transit services that are not adapted to their needs.
Notably, 5% of respondents would like to use public transit but do not have access to it, revealing real mobility barriers for some seniors.
These findings suggest there is room for improvement in adapting public transit services to better meet the needs of seniors on the Plateau.
