Protect your bikes this summer with Garage 529

With the arrival of warm weather, cycling enthusiasts take to the streets in search of new adventures, while children head to the park with their faithful two-wheeled companions. Unfortunately, it's also a time of recurring bike thefts on the Plateau.

Since 2021, the Service de police de la Ville de Gatineau (SPVG) has partnered with Garage 529, a virtual platform that lets you register your bike free of charge and mobilize the community in the event of loss or theft.

To register your bike, you need to create an account on the Garage 529 (SPVG) website or by downloading the app on your smartphone. Then, you can pick up your tamper-evident tag at the Hull sector police station (boulevard de la Carrière) during their weekly clinic, every Wednesday between 9 and 10 a.m., or at an event organized by the SPVG. Stay safe on the roads and have a great summer!
