Young Entrepreneurs Market on the Plateau: together, preparing the next generation of entrepreneurs
On June 1st, 2024, the ARP proudly hosted its very first Young Entrepreneurs Market on Le Plateau. This pilot project aimed to give local youth a chance to experience what it's like to be an entrepreneur, while also seek community interest.
After two successful editions, the Association des résidents du Plateau (ARP) is proud to announce the return of the Young Entrepreneurs Market (ARP), part of La grande journée des petits entrepreneurs, a provincial event that allows youth aged 5 to 17 to experience entrepreneurship for a day.
When and where?
Place centrale de l'Agora du Plateau
Saturday, June 6, 2026
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Outdoor event, held rain or shine.
The event will take place at the same time as the opening of the Marché du Plateau at Parc Central, creating an even more lively and welcoming atmosphere in the area.
An inspiring day for the whole family
This community-driven event gives young participants the chance to live a real entrepreneurial experience by launching their small business, showcasing their products, and engaging with the community.
The 2026 edition promises a festive and dynamic atmosphere with:
- more than 70 passionate young entrepreneurs;
- creative booths and original products;
- a public vote to encourage the youth;
- a demonstration by Ambulance Saint-Jean on emergency response techniques (CPR and defibrillator use);
- the presence of the Chambre de commerce de Gatineau to answer questions from future and current entrepreneurs;
- a friendly atmosphere in the heart of the neighbourhood.

Visitor tips
To make purchases from young entrepreneurs easier:
- Bring cash if possible (small bills recommended);
- some booths may also accept other payment methods;
- take the opportunity to explore other activities in the area.

Growing success year after year
Since its creation in 2024, the event has seen remarkable growth:
- 2024: 20 small businesses and 37 young entrepreneurs
- 2025: 45 businesses and 67 young participants
- hundreds of visitors supporting local youth entrepreneurship
The Market has now become a highly anticipated event for families in the Plateau and the greater Gatineau region.
