The holiday season is over, leaving behind many styrofoam items: food trays, gift protections, plant trays... Every year, tons of styrofoam still end up in the trash due to limited recycling options. Although some food trays have been accepted in the blue bin since 2025, styrofoam remains difficult to recycle in regular curbside collections because of its light weight and bulky volume.
On January 10, 2026, a special collection will accept these materials:
-
Packaging for electronic and household appliances
-
Plant trays and winter protection materials
To ensure proper recycling, all items must be empty and clean, free of food residue, plastic wrap, tape, labels, or nails.
To find a drop-off location, offer a collection point, or volunteer, register here: Participation Form.
This collection helps give a second life to materials that otherwise could not be recycled, while reducing post-holiday waste.
