Avenue des jeunes is a regional organization that has been supporting youth for over 45 years, helping them grow, learn, and develop autonomy. The organization now operates four youth centres for ages 12 to 17, as well as Héberge-Ados, a housing service for youth aged 13 to 17. Avenue des jeunes adapts its services to the realities faced by young people, ensuring they are supported by meaningful adults and fostering a safe and healthy environment for both youth and the broader community.
With this in mind, the Plateau Partners' Table was created in 2023 to provide a shared response to neighborhood challenges. One of the solutions identified was the creation of a new youth centre in the Plateau sector, both as a positive alternative to delinquency and as a way to provide permanent services in the area. Funded by the City of Gatineau, Avenue des jeunes is conducting a feasibility study to design, plan, and organize all the necessary activities for establishing a new youth centre in the Plateau.
Beyond identifying which activities are of interest to youth, the study also seeks to understand your interest in having a youth centre in the Plateau. To this end, we invite you to complete one of the two surveys. The survey takes less than 10 minutes to complete, and youth confidentiality is guaranteed--no identifying questions are included.
Please note: the surveys are available in French only.
For citizens aged 18 and over who wish to participate in the project, please complete the following survey on the Citizen Vision of activities for youth in the neighborhood.
For citizens aged 18 and over who support the establishment of a youth center in the Plateau area, a letter of support is available through the following link.
For youth under 18 who wish to participate in the project, please complete the following survey on Youth Activities in the Plateau neighborhood.
